So by now you are all probably well aware of my want for a Mac Mini. If not, just do a search for ‘mac mini’ on the site and see what comes up.
I came across a picture of a mac mini hooked up to a Plasma tv that almost made me take out my credit card…

By now everyone probably knows that due to Apple Boot Camp; you can run Windows XP on your mac. You also probably know that you can run the two OS side by side on virtue desktops by using the Intel virtualization technology (see some posts in Apple category for previous stories). All that sounds like pretty old stuff; except for what you are about to see in this video..
Did you notice how the OS is being switched?
It is being done by using the ‘Motion sensor’ technology built into the laptop. Originally it was designed so that the Macbook can sense if it is being dropped and it can turn off its hard drives. Pretty neat huh?

Well; it has finally happened. I have had my 4th generation, 20gig iPod for about 2years now. It has served me well over the years. When I bought it; I never thought I would ever fill up the 20gig. In fact; I actually considered getting the 10gig for a little bit. Today though, when I plugged in my iPod to sync up with iTunes; I got a message that I never thought I would see. iTunes warned me that there was not enough room left on the iPod to completely sync my whole music library. I have filled up all 20gig (actually 18.5 of available space).
I went to Costco today and they had the 30gig and the 60gig “video” iPod on display. The 30gig was $289 while the 60gig was $389. I personally think the 60 is the better buy. For only $100 more, you get double the capacity. But I don’t think I will buy now. I am going to wait for the ‘Real video iPod’ that all the rumor sites have been writing about for months now. Apparently the ‘video ipod’ that Apple has out now is not the ‘final’ version. They are working on something better, with a better/bigger screen and bluetooth capability for wireless headphones. I have no idea when that is coming out. Maybe I should just get the 60gig now since there will always be something better and cheaper that comes out a month after I buy it. Decisions Decisions Decisions!
Even easier thing to do would be to click on one of those ‘Get a free 30gig Video iPod’ ads and get one for free.

Previously, before Intel transition, Apple had the Powerbook and the iBook line. Powerbook was aimed at professionals and iBooks was for consumers. Ever since the MacBook pro was introduced with the Intel Core Duo processor; computer enthusiasts have been waiting for the consumer version. Well, according to some mac rumor sites; the wait may be over. Apple is going to introduce the Macbook on Tuesday, May 9th. It will be thinner than the current ibooks. Going with the iPod color theme; the Macbook will be available in black and white colors. Can’t wait until Tuesday! By the way; why does Apple make all their major product announcements on a Tuesday? Anyone know?
Update They are here!! They start at $1099; while the black one is only available as a $1500 model. Oh well; they look super sweet though

Check out this very cool ad that used about $60,000 worth of iPods.

Let me just start out by saying that I am liking youtube more and more. It is so easy to find videos and even easier to share them. I dont know how they do it; but more power to them! Having said that; I found this video a few days ago while surfing one of the many tech sites I read daily. (It was posted on digg.com).
It shows a Intel mac running 3 Operating systems as once using Parallels Workstation. Basically Parallels allows you to run another OS (such as Windows XP) as a ‘virtual OS’. In this video; the intel mac is running XP, OSX and Linux. They are using a software called “VirtueDesktops” for Macs to do the cool ‘cube switching’ effect. No need to reboot at all!
