Nextel phones

I have always wondered what is the big deal about Nextel phones. Do they have good Nextel phone plans that makes people want to buy that phone? I mean what is the difference between them and any other phone? Especially now that a ‘mainstream’ company (sprint) has bought Nextel; are they still as good as they used to be. I know that one of the big features they used to push was the ‘Push To Talk’ feature. I think that used to be an exclusive Nextel feature. However, that is not true anymore since a lot of companies offer that feature on phones. Do you have Nextel? If so; what do you like about it? What makes you like it better than other carriers..
