Soni Pabla died today
October 15th, 2006
I just got the news that popular punjabi singer Soni Pabla died today. He apparently died of a heart attack while he was performing at a concert in Canada. He was only 27 years old. How can you have a heart attack at 27 years of age?? First we lost Kulwinder Dhillon; and now Soni Pabla. This is a great loss to the Punjabi music scene. My thoughts and prayers are with his family tonight.. 
I was reading this week’s punjabi newspaper and this was the summary of the article that was posted.
He was performing at a concert in Toronto. He sang 4 songs and went backstage since he was not feeling well. He was given water by his friends and while talking to them, he just collapsed. His friends tried to revive him but he passed away even before the ambulance got to the scene.
He was the only brother of 4 sisters. He migrated with his mom to Canda about 12 years ago. He worked at a factory when he was younger, and he even worked for some time as a truck driver. At first he was just intersted in writing songs, but then later turned to singing. He recently married in December 2005; and his wife had just come to Canda 2 months ago. Soni was planning on going to India this week and he had already booked his ticket. His new album was already finished before he died.

Its really shocking to know that Soni Pabla is no more. I will miss him and his voice. He was a great singer. His songs just touch the heart.

I miss you so much soni pabla. He was honestly my most favourite singer but now he’s gone. i love you so much.whenever i hear his songs,i really feel like dancing, he just was the greatest. But now when i hear his songs, i wanna cry cuz he’s not here anymore. its pretty hard to believe. why do our loved ones always pass away and leave so much misery?

Sad to say. but this really is a great lose for our commnity. Excellent voice, excellent music and I’m just sad to say that he will not be here to sing any more great songs. He was good at everything that he did. Thoughts and prayers are going out to his family…especially his mom. Thank you for bringing him into this world so he could share his talent with all of us. Soni, u will be greatly missed!!!!!!!

R.I.P Soni…I was very shocked to hear you died because I sometimes watch your music videos on t.v…You made very good albums and all that is left are memories to be cherished…I know you are in a better place now…I still think of my friend Pritpaul Dhanoa who was beaten to death in Woodbridge following a brawl between 2 groups of teens back in October 2005…You probably must have heard about it because it was on the news… His funeral was at Benisasia funeral home at the same place your funeral was at…Once again…R.I.P Soni

Listening 2 his trak from his tribute album “Eternity” really made me sorrow, i feel so sad that he’s gone he was such an amazing singer. Boli Pani by Sanj just blew it when it came out and his voice was just something that no other bhangra singer had. STYLE! you will never be forgotten til this day.

i still cant believ Soni Pbla has passed away i dont want to believe it. when i got the news i was shocked.im surely going to miss him he had a great voice and i loved his music.i feel for his family god bless them. I LOVE YOU SONI and his never too far from my thoughts. R.I.P XXX
