Login/Signup system with PHP and MySQL
Last weekend I spent some time learning CSS. I used that to put up a basic site layout for my brand new site (stay tuned!). This weekend; I spent part of my saturday hooking up a login/signup system. I am using PHP and MySql to manage that. I used some javascript for client side error checking; and there is a little AJAX thrown in there as well. There are so many great tutorials about PHP and MySQL; but I found one that was really really good for what I wanted to do. This one saved me a lot of time and frustration. Using this now; I am able to email the user once they register and ask them to ‘activate’ the account as well. Next up I am going to spend some time on making a ‘homepage’ for the user; so that they could manage their profile and stuff. Stay tuned!
