Ok, this is a pretty bizarre piece of news. Apparentely South Park creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, were told by some marines that they were making Saddam watch the SouthPark movie repeatedly. The movie, South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut, features Saddam in a very prominent role; along with the Devil. If you have not seen the movie yet; I won’t ruin it for you. I have been buying and selling stuff on ebay for years now. I think I joined back in 1999. I used to buy a lot of gadgets and then sell them back on ebay after I would get bored with them.
Anyways; one of the things that ebay lacks is a way to figure out if the item you are buying is really a good deal or not. There are so many deals now a days that an ebay auction might not really be the best deal. Another problem with ebay is that there is a lot of sniping going on. Sniping refers to the practice of waiting until the last second to bid. I have lost quite a few auctions to ’sniping’. I was looking around online for a application that will let me price compare with ebay and also do automatic bidding. I came across PricePirates; a very cool price comparison tool. Its a free download and works pretty well. I can’t wait to use it for my next bargain hunt over at ebay.

Tivo is pretty much synonymous with DVR. Many people just assume that a DVR is a Tivo. I frankly do not realize what the difference is between a regular DVR and a Tivo. I guess, by same token, I do not understand why someone would pay a monthly subscription fee to Tivo. Having said that; more details are surfacing about the new DVR from Tivo. The one detail that should jump is the MSRP. It is believed to be $799. Thats right; the new HD Tivo will cost more than some HD TVs. I don’t know what Tivo is thinking!!
