DishNetwork - can they get anything right?
My 1 year contract with Dish Network is ending on August 23rd. Back when I had originally signed up; there was a great deal going on in my region. It was $30/month for the Top 60 channels; $10/month for HD pack (which was free for 6 months). Basically my bill was around $35/month for the last 6 months. That was a great deal. I called them up a few days ago to see what kind of deal I could get now that the original commitment was ending. I knew that they were offering $30/month for their new customers. This was for the HD Bronze package; which includes over 20 HD channels. Since I have a HD TV; this was the deal I was hoping to get. To my dismay; I found out that this particular deal was only available for new customers. Now why is it that companies are so keen to get new customers; but they do not give a care if they retain their existing ones. I mean if I am willing to sign another 12 month contract; does it make sense to not give me the same deal as a new customer would get after a 12month contract? What is the difference. Who is more likely to stay with them in the long term? Is it the new customer who got a great deal for 12 months; but then a shitty one afterwards? Or is it me who got a great deal for 12 months; and then an even better one for the next 12. Every customer should be treated equal; no matter if its a new or existing one. That should be your top priority! Needless to say; I called up Comcast afterwards; and they were more than happy to have me as a customer. They even offered a $25/month discount since I was switching from Dish. All this and no contracts..just a simple month to month plan. Dish Network can learn a lot from Comcast.
CDK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
