I was just notified by a friend today that I am back to being the only ‘Shergill’ in the Intel phonebook. Apparently the other person with ’shergill’ as a last name left the company. Just felt like posting it. So if you hear in the news that Shergill did something good (or bad?) for Intel; you would immediate know which Shergill they are talking about.

I finally removed Ubuntu from my computer this weekend. It was a pretty cool OS and everything; but I never used it. I believed it must have been a month since I logged into Ubuntu. Mainly due to the fact that I was so busy at work; I did not even use my home computer all that much. Anyways; I removed it and reclaimed the 15gig partition that I had set up for it. 5 of those gig went to my music partition. The other 10 I have just lying around for now. I think I might experiment with VMware a little bit and see how that goes. But that will have to wait; need to get some free time from work. Its been absolutely insane for the past few months there; but slowly and surely things are falling in place.

Usually people come up to me and ask me computer questions; but today I am having to ask one.
Look at this picture below. Its from my computer running Windows Xp.

In the ‘left sidebar’; there should be some options that show up there. I do not know how to describe it; but if you open up a window on your computer running XP; you will most likely see it there. How do I get it back? I do not even remember how I turned it off in the 1st place.
This thing has got me totally perplexed. I might have to turn in my geek license.
Edit Do not take away my geek license just yet. I figured it out. Here is a little step by step guide
- Open a explorer window (such as My Documents)
- Go to “Tools->Folder Options”
- Under the “General” Tab; look for ‘Tasks’.
- Make sure you check ‘Show common tasks in folder’

This is the first video I ever uploaded on YouTube. Ofcourse it had to be a punjabi music song. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge fan of Punjabi (Bhangra) music. Anyways; the upload process was pretty easy. I just took a mpeg file that I had on my computer and followed the instructions on the youtube site. It took a while for the upload though; since the file is about 34mb. But all in all, pretty easy :). Hope to put up some more videos later…

A while back, I wrote about the 5.05% saving rate being offered by HSBC. That seemed like a great rate; until Emigrant Direct started offering 5.15%. I have an account at both HSBC and EmigrantDirect. The one thing I like about Emigrant Direct is that ‘online transfers’ are very fast compared to HSBC. Come on HSBC; lets see you raise up that rate
Isn’t it great to be earning over 5% on your money; with absolutely no risks..
