A History of Violence - Movie Review
Me and my wife saw ‘A History of Violence’ last weekend. I have been meaning to see this movie for a really long time. Back when Crash came out; people were comparing the two. Well, I just saw it and I have to say that I was not impressed. There was nothing ’special’ about the movie. The storyline seemed too ‘common’. Throughout the movie; there was no suspense as to who this Tom Stalls character was. I thought the movie would be a trip into the human psyche or something ‘philosophical’ like that. It just turned out to be a ‘one time watch’ movie. Nothing else.. nothing more. There was some suspense early on as to who this character really was; but once you find out.. the movie just drags. The last 20-30 minutes just seem like the director ran out of ideas and had to ‘kill’ a few people to get out of the ‘mess’ that he got the movie into. All in all; a good time pass.. but nothing more. Definitely not worthy of the press that was given to this movie.
