I get the local newspaper (Sacramento Bee) 4 times a week. It gets delivered Friday-Monday for only $4 a month. I don’t know how the heck they can afford to do this; but I am not complaining. There is something about having a morning cup of tea on the weekend and opening up a newspaper. Its just not the same as going to BBC or CNN.com. Anyways; this post was supposed to be about this funny Dilbert cartoon that I read. Here is the setup. Dilbert and a co-worker are sitting at a conference table. The co-worker, female, is asking Dilbert for his opinion on her project plan.
Co-Worker: I Need your honest opinion about my project plan. Don’t hold back.
Dilbert: Your plan looks like it was written by a drunken lemur as a practical joke on other drunken lemurs.
I was laughing about loud for a minute. That was just too funny. Who would use a reference to a lemur when talking about the project plan. Not just any lemur, but a drunken lemur. Anyways; I thought I will share that. It definitely made me smile.

Illegal downloads are increasing by the minute. No matter how much the content owners try to curb it; the illegal file trading networks keep on thriving. Seems like with the growing populatiry of high speed connection at homes; Hollywood is going to also feel the pain of the music industry. Box office revenues are down; movie theatres are crying about lower sales. Hey, I would go see a movie if it didn’t cost $20 for two tickets.
Anyways; as I was surfing the web today; I came across this pretty cool site. It shows you the hottest downloads in p2p world. They have it categorized based on music, movies, games, software and ringtones. They monitor eDonkey and Gnutella networks to provide these stats for you. Imagine how the list will change if they include BitTorrent (something they are working on).
KingKong is the #2 downloaded movie. These people are going to be sorry!

Unless you have been living under a rock, or you just have not visited this blog for a week; you should know that Google has launched their much awaited Calendar service. As with all things Google, it has a few cool options that are not found elsewhere. One of the neatest features that my friend Navdeep Aulakh (no relation), found out is how easy it is to publish your calendar events. Google allows you to put a link on your site that will allow visitors to add that event to their calendar. This is the event that I made:

Check out his site on how to make your own.

USB Air Darts . It is pretty amazing to see all the USB accessories that are coming out, many from japan and china. You get anything from fans, coffee warmers, fish tanks powered through USB. But this has to be one of the coolest usb accessory to date. It is basically a ‘nerf style’ launcher that you hook up to your computer via the usb port. Everything you see in the video is being controlled by the software that it comes with. You can use the computer to position it and fire the darts. All over a usb connection. The darts travel 10-15ft. Imagine the possibilites inside a cubicle type office setting. You can have your own nerd wars now.
If you watch the video; you will notice that the last dart misfires. hehe. I guess the makers still have some kinks to work out. For now; ebay is the only place to buy it in the US.
