New DVD Burner - NEC 3550A

Just like blogging; I am late once again to another common application now a days: DVD burning. I have a cd burner in my computer; but I can’t think of the last time I burned a CD. I used to use it quite a bit; but ever since I got an iPod, the usage has really died down. I had always wanted to get a dvd burner; but never really felt the strong need to get one. Well, that was in the past.
I finally got a dvd burner installed in my computer. I chose the NEC 3550a.

It has gotten good reviews on Newegg. I order it on tuesday; and had it on thursday (with the free 3 day shipping). It only cost me $40; which is damn good if you ask me. Today I burned my first dvd: a data dvd of my mp3 collection (only artist A-D). I intend to fully backup the critical data on my hard drive this weekend; the thought of having the hard drive crash really scares the crap out of me!!
